$3,000 shoplifted from the Tommy Hilfiger store in the Jersey Shore Premium Outlet

Police recovered merchandise valued at $3,000 shoplifted from the Tommy Hilfiger store in the Jersey Shore Premium Outlets after a mall security officer tipped them off to the vehicle, according to Capt. David Trevena, of the Tinton Falls Police Department.

Jimmy Lugo, 31, Benjamin Alvarado, 23, and Francisco Sierra, 19, all of Newark, were taken into custody on the Garden State Parkway on Aug. 26, after the mall security officer followed the trio out to the vehicle and provided police with a description, Trevena said.

The three men were each charged with shoplifting.

Tinton Falls police are investigating other shoplifting incidents at the Jersey Shore Premium Outlets in recent weeks.

Patrolman Anthony Turso is investigating a shoplifting incident where a person fled the Esprit store with a sweater after being confronted by a store employee on Aug. 24, Trevena said.

Turso is also investigating another shoplifting incident that day, after someone stole $1,600 worth of jeans and shirts from the Lucky Brand Jeans store, Trevena added.

Sgt. Kevin Pierson responded to a report of shoplifting at the Diesel store after someone fled the store with underwear and jeans valued at $200 after a store employee confronted that person on Aug. 24, Trevena said.
