Anne Klein will close Waikele outlet store

Women’s apparel retailer Anne Klein is closing its only Hawaii store at the Waikele Premium Outlets on Aug. 27.

A spokeswoman for New York-based Jones Apparel Group, parent company of Anne Klein, said the shutdown of the Hawaii store is part of a “pre-announced retail-improvement plan announced in late 2008 to close about 200 under performing stores.”

Anne Klein has fewer than a dozen employees at the 3,300-square-foot Waikele outlet store.
