VAUGHAN, ON, April 27 /CNW/ - Vaughan Mills is thrilled to announce the highly-anticipated return of the Vaughan Mills Shopping Shuttle, which provides free round trip transportation to Canada's most exceptional collection of specialty retailers, factory outlets, dining options and entertainment attractions. Operating from Toronto's transportation hub, Union Station, the Shopping Shuttle will offer convenient and relaxing daily excursions to Vaughan Mills. It begins operation on Sunday, May 1st and continues free, twice-daily service through to Friday, September 30th, 2011.

"Toronto's only Shopping Shuttle continues to be a huge success, with an average occupancy of 77% during peak season in 2010, " explains Lesley Boughen, Tourism Manager, Vaughan Mills. "And our loyal shopping shuttle passengers love to shop! On average, they spend double the amount of the average visitor."

The 49-passenger Shopping Shuttle features plush seating and overhead storage in a climate-controlled motor coach. Identification Bracelets to access the Vaughan Mills Shopping Shuttle are distributed on a day-of, first-come, first-served basis from the City Tours & Attractions Desk located inside the Great Hall of Union Station. The Identification Bracelet will allow travel to and from Vaughan Mills on one of two daily runs departing from Union Station along Front Street. The morning service departs at 10am and returns from Vaughan Mills at 3pm. The afternoon service departs at 1pm and returns from Vaughan Mills at 6pm. Both the morning and afternoon Service allow for a full 4 hour excursion to explore the shopping centre before returning to Union Station.

Vaughan Mills is a designated tourist attraction and international visitors represent more than half (53 per cent) of the Shopping Shuttle's occupancy. By eliminating over 45,000 vehicle kilometres per year, the Shuttle also provides an eco-friendly solution for both international travelers and city-dwellers to discover this unique destination. It is one more way Vaughan Mills is demonstrating its overall commitment to corporate responsibility and environmental sustainability.
