As part of its pre-arranged bankruptcy, Harry & David Holdings Inc., asked the court Tuesday for permission to hire a real estate consultant to help close 50 of its 122 retail stores.
The Medford company wants to hire DJM Realty Services, a subsidiary of the Gordon Brothers Group that the filing said had helped defunct retailers Ultimate Electronics, Hollywood Entertainment/Movie Gallery, Linens n' Things and Sharper Image.
The filing said that DJM also could help Harry & David renegotiate leases with landlords for 69 of its other stores, including Oregon locations at Columbia Gorge Premium Outlets in Tualatin, Country Village in Medford, Tanger Factory Outlet Center in Lincoln City and Woodburn Company Stores.
It would also look to renegotiate leases with landlords of its seven warehouses located in Medford.
