Desert Hills Premium Outlets expansion begins

A $100 million expansion has kicked off that will add about 45 new stores and a four-story parking garage to the Desert Hills Premium Outlets in Cabazon.

The larger of two outlet malls near Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa, the Desert Hills Premium Outlets are about 20 minutes west of the Coachella Valley off Interstate 10.

The project will bring another 146,000 square feet of leasable space, giving the 22-year-old outlet mall about 640,000 square feet of total shopping space.

The Desert Hills Premium Outlets' new parking garage is slated to open in 2013, with new stores debuting in 2014.

Existing stores include Ann Taylor Factory Store, Bass, Bottega Veneta, Burberry, Diane Von Furstenberg, Elie Tahari, Gucci, Prada and Versace.
