OGEMAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -
The Tanger Outlet Center in West Branch remains closed after a roof collapse that happened last week.
TV5 has learned that two of the stores will be demolished to prevent further damage. The Polo Ralph Lauren and Hanes Brands stores will be destroyed.
The collapse originated at the Ralph Lauren store and ended up impacting both the Hanes store and Van Heusen location.
According to The Ogemaw Herald, authorities say they believe the cave-in was due to a build-up of snow on the roof. No official cause has been released however.
A nearby Applebee's, which closed following the cave-in, was also closed but has since reopened.
An operations team is still assessing what steps are needed to protect the center.
