Shoplifters mace employee at Jackson Premium Outlets

Three individuals were arrested in connection with a robbery in Jackson on the afternoon of Feb. 5.

Jackson Police Department public information officer Capt. David Newman reported that Jackson police responded to the Aeropostale store at the Jackson Premium Outlets, Route 537, at 3:56 p.m. Feb. 5 on a report of a robbery.

Newman said Aeropostale employees reported that the suspects, described as two black females, used a chemical spray to subdue a store employee who observed them shoplifting merchandise valued at $167.49.

According to police, the two women then fled the store and entered a tan Toyota Corolla that was being operated by a white male.

Jackson Police Officer Donald Lasko, who was dispatched to the call, observed a vehicle that fit the description of the suspects’ vehicle passing him on West Commodore Boulevard. Lasko turned and followed the vehicle.

Newman said the driver of the suspects’ vehicle made an evasive turn onto Hallmark Court, a dead-end street.

Lasko then stopped the vehicle. When back-up units arrived, the suspects were removed from the vehicle and arrested.

Police said the driver, Bruce Post III, 37, of Trenton, was charged with robbery and conspiracy. His bail was set at $100,000 and he was initially placed in the Ocean County jail in default of bail.

Nakiah Goggans, 18, of Trenton, was charged with robbery, conspiracy and shoplifting. Her bail was set at $75,000 and she was initially lodged in the Ocean County jail in default of bail.

A17-year-old female from Trenton who police did not identify by name was taken into custody and issued a juvenile delinquency complaint for robbery, conspiracy and shoplifting. The juvenile was turned over to the custody of the Ocean County Juvenile Detention Center.
