Bethlehem, PA (November 1, 2011) – Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem, a
Bethlehem, PA, casino and entertainment destination, today opened the doors to
the public for preview days of The
Shoppes at Sands, a new luxury retail outlet center. Six retailers – Talbots,
Nine West, DKNY, Lenox, Old Farmer’s Almanac General Store and Hartmann Luggage
– welcomed patrons for the first time.
Later this month, additional retail
stores, including Ultra Diamonds, Guess and Spritz Designer Fragrances, are
also slated to open. By the official Grand Opening of The Shoppes at Sands in
February 2012, additional national brand retailers – including Coach and
Corning – will be available to shoppers.

continue its expansion by opening nine retail stores at The Shoppes at Sands

Bethlehem President Robert DeSalvio. “With the timely opening of these stores
just before the start of the holiday shopping season, we expect that the new
outlet center will attract visitors from right here in Pennsylvania as well as
New York and New Jersey.”
In addition to providing a boost to
the local economy by attracting new visitors to the area, The Shoppes at Sands
is also expected to create approximately 250 new jobs for area residents.
The development of this luxury outlet
center follows the latest expansion of the Sands Bethlehem resort, which
includes the Sands Hotel, the largest full service hotel in the Lehigh Valley,
and Emeril’s Italian Table, a new restaurant from world-renowned chef and
restaurateur Emeril Lagasse, both of which opened earlier this year.
The Shoppes at Sands will be easily
accessible to visitors of the Sands Bethlehem, as it is directly connected to
the main casino floor as well as the adjoining Sands Hotel.
Situated on the former site of the
historic Bethlehem Steel plant, the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem originally
debuted in May 2009. The property currently offers the Sands Hotel, the largest
full service hotel in the Lehigh Valley, over 3,000 state-of-the-art slot
machines, 129 live table games, and a variety of premier entertainment and
