Terrifying surveillance video at Tanger Outlets in Tilton

(NECN: Julie Loncich, Tilton, NH)

Three masked men wearing white Halloween masks, similar to those from “Scary Movie,” and black hooded sweatshirts robbed the Kay Jewelers at Tanger Outlets in Tilton, New Hampshire on Friday night.

The three suspects were armed with hand guns and hammers.

The employees and customers were ordered to the floor, including an elderly couple and a woman with her 12-year-old daughter.

The suspects smashed the glass cases with hammers, removing the jewelry and putting it into sacks.

One suspect kept his eye on the clock and made sure all three were out of the store after two minutes.

Witnesses described the men as “professional robbers,” saying they seemed calm, as if they had robbed several times before.

"We definitely think this is a group that this is all they do, and we're looking into the possibility that it might be connected to some of the other robberies between Mass. and New Hampshire that have occurred," said Police Chief Robert Cormier.

The three suspects fled on foot toward the wooded area behind the outlets. Tilton police requested the assistance of the NH state police, K-9 units and Belmont, Northfield and Sanbornton police departments.

A large, yet undetermined amount of jewelry was taken in the robbery, and the suspects should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone who may have seen anything before or after the robbery, or anyone with any information, is asked to call the Tilton police department at 603-286-4442.
