The Chic Outlet Shopping Villages draw South East Asian shoppers


The Chic Outlet Shopping Villages by Value Retail have announced 2011 third quarter sales which report a 78% increase in visitors from South East Asia to its Villages.

This increase resulted in a 54% growth in tax refunded sales compared to the same period in 2010.

Value Retail recorded the highest number of visitors to the Chic Outlet Shopping Villages from China, followed by the Middle East and Russia, with Hong Kong representing the fifth most popular shopping nation after South East Asia.

Kildare Village near Dublin and Bicester Village near London proved to be the most popular with visitors from South East Asia according to the latest tax-free figures.

The third quarter of 2011 also revealed that the average spend for each refunded transaction of shoppers from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia combined increased by 3%, just exceeding the average global customer spend of €275.
