Groundbreaking ceremony at Wolfsburg Designer Outlets


Opening of the second phase is approaching: On 18th of June 2013 designer outlets Wolfsburg  celebrated the groundbreaking

The positive trend that began with the opening of the first urban outlet center in 2007, reached a new level: Yesterday developers, media representatives and guests got together to join the groundbreaking ceremony  of the second phase.

The guests were welcomed by OCI CEO Hans Dobke and Wolfsburg's Mayor Klaus Mohr. Solemn highlight was the traditional integration of a capsule into the foundation, which was previously filled with contemporary documents such as newspapers, the current currency and good wishes cards listed on the approximately one hundred guests for the future of the center.

"The foundation stone was preparing a major step towards an early opening of the second phase. With the starting shot for about 25 other shops, and over 150 new jobs in the retail sector and with a total investment of 25 million euros," said Hans Dobke .

Mayor Mohr also sees the finalization of the second building section contrary happy and stressed the economic importance of the Center for the Wolfsburg: "The designer outlets Wolfsburg have developed into an independent tourist destination and increases the catchment area of the customers and visitors significantly. The completion of the second phase of construction is scheduled for winter 2013.

The first urban outlet center in Germany
