Guess Factory Outlet coming to Destiny USA

Syracuse, NY -- Fashion retailer Guess is returning to Syracuse, bringing a Guess Factory Store to Destiny USA, the expansion of Carousel Center mall scheduled to open in the spring.

Destiny executives said today in a statement that landing Guess "is a major addition to the designer outlet retail portion of the expansion and the store's only location in the Syracuse area."

Carousel Center had a full-line Guess store. It opened in 2000 and closed in 2006.

Destiny USA, the long-delayed approximately 1 million-square-foot addition to the 21-year-old Carousel Center mall, will be a mix of upscale retail outlets, traditional stores, restaurants and entertainment venues, the Syracuse-based developer of the twin centers have said.

Guess is one of several designer retail outlets that so far have been confirmed for Destiny USA. Others include Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th, BCBG Max Azria, Max Mara, Michael Kors, Hickey Freeman HMX, Hugo Boss, Lenox and Hartmann.

On Tuesday, Destiny executives confirmed Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill restaurant and live-entertainment venue will be opening in the expansion, also in the spring. Other restaurants announced for Destiny USA include Cantina Laredo, an upscale Mexican cantina; Melting Pot, a fondue restaurant; and Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant.

There are more than 1,200 Guess and Guess Factory stores worldwide. The company was formed in 1981 by French brothers Maurice and Paul Marciano. Their goal was to mix European styling with American design in their trendy clothing lines.
