Armed Robbery at Desert Hills Premium Outlets

Police were on the lookout Sunday for a handgun-waving robber who held up a retailer at the Desert Hills Premium Outlets on Saturday night.

At about 7:25 p.m., the Riverside County Sheriff's Department got a call that the Sunglass Hut in the mall at 48400 Seminole Drive had been robbed.

The store was staffed by a single employee, and there were no customers present at the time, Sgt. James Burton said. The store's lone worker wasn't harmed.

The suspect was described as a Latino man about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 160 pounds. He was wearing a black beanie, black pants and a black scarf over his face.

He did not take any merchandise but fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police asked anyone with information to contact Sgt. Sean Bahash at (951) 922-7100.
