Tanger celebrates 30 years by attempting Guinness World Record.

Tanger Factory Outlet Centers Inc., which owns a shopping outlet in Foley, Ala., and more than 30 other shopping centers in the United States, this month is celebrating its 30th year of business.

The company has planned a number of events and promotions in May to celebrate, including a "Largest Dessert Party" on May 12 at the Foley outlet.

A crowd of more than 1,200 people are expected to attend the party with the goal of setting a record with Guinness World Records for the largest dessert party.
