Five months after the Legends at Village West changed its retail direction to outlets and its name to Legends Outlets Kansas City, it has signed two new outlet tenants.
Loft Outlet: The Ann Taylor Stores concept, which was launched in 2008, will open its first outlet in the region. It will take a 6,022-square-foot space at 1803 Village West Parkway, Suite M121. A late fall opening is planned.
Legends Outlet also has an Ann Taylor Factory Store.
Christopher & Banks: The specialty women’s apparel retailer will open its first area outlet location.
Christopher & Banks has more than 800 women’s specialty stores in 46 states. It will take a 3,748-square-foot space at 1813 Village West Parkway, Suite Q102 (former home of Le Creuset) for a late September opening.
Additionally, Rodney Yates, founder of Scottsdale, Ariz.-based OTB Destination LLC, has joined the Legends Outlets team as a leasing consultant.
OTB works with such outlet tenants such as Nike Factory, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th, Michael Kors, Guess Factory and Kenneth Cole.
Since the March conversion to outlets, the Kansas City, Kan. center has seen a sales increase of nine percent compared to the same period in 2009, slightly higher than the average increase for the overall center, which includes restaurants, entertainment venues, and other retail stores.
It also has seen a five percent increase in comparative traffic since the outlet conversion.
