Shortly after media outlets released the suspect’s photo on Aug. 18, a Sacramento County deputy sheriff and a Citrus Heights security officer contacted Folsom investigators regarding a man who allegedly robbed the Jelly Belly store at the Folsom Premium Outlets on July 28.
Todd Joseph Willis, 45, of Fair Oaks was arrested on Aug. 11 by Citrus Heights Police on suspicion of committing a similar crime.
Willis was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on one count of robbery and three counts of resisting arrest. He is being held in lieu of $105,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court at 1:35 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 3.
Investigators conducted a photo lineup which included Willis’ photograph and the victim was able to quickly identify him as the suspect, according to authorities. On Sept. 2, Folsom investigators went to Willis’ Fair Oaks apartment to interview him.
As they attempted to arrest Willis, he allegedly became combative with three of the officers and attempted to flee on foot. He was subdued after a brief struggle and transported to an area hospital to be cleared for booking. No officers were injured while apprehending Willis.
