Bloomingdale's to open in Wrentham Premium Outlets

Bloomingdale’s, the upscale, 150-year-old American department store, is slated to be coming to the Wrentham Village Premium Outlets site.

There are no Bloomingdale’s in the area as the nearest one is located in Newton, at the Mall at Chestnut Hill.

The department store is scheduled to be built on the last remaining spot on the land in front of the outlet mall along South Street (Route 1A). The building is set to run 24,000-square feet.

A public hearing before the planning board on preliminary plans is scheduled for Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at town hall. Bloomingdale’s has become a retail institution, with the first store opening in 1860.

At the Wrentham mall, the so-called “outparcel” where Bloomingdale’s is slated is also home to a Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and Restaurant, Uno Chicago Grill, Dunkin’ Donuts, Ruby Tuesday and Restoration Hardware.
