On December 24th, at approximately 2:17 p.m.., deputies assigned to the Cabazon Station received a call of a citizen following a male and a female suspected of just having burglarized a car at the Desert Hills Premium Outlets, Cabazon.

The suspects were in a gray compact vehicle with Kentucky license plates, and were fleeing westbound on the Interstate 10 freeway.

A short time later, a Calimesa police deputy observed a gray compact vehicle with Kentucky license plates, occupied by a male and female, at the intersection of Singleton Road and Calimesa Boulevard.

The deputy initiated a stop on the vehicle, detaining the suspects without incident. A search of the vehicle revealed numerous items not belonging to the suspects, and believed to be stolen from the vehicle at the Desert Hills Premium Outlets.

The citizen who witnessed the vehicle burglary was taken to the scene, and positively identified the suspects as those who smashed the window of the victim’s vehicle and stole the property. Numerous other items of suspected stolen property were also located in the vehicle, with a total approximate value of $15,000.

Deputies were able to locate the victims of the witnessed vehicle burglary, who later identified items located in the suspect’s vehicle as their personal property.  Also located in the vehicle at the time of the stop was a notable amount of methamphetamine.

Arrested for conspiracy, vehicle burglary, and possession of controlled substances were Randall Stephen Gruber, 32 and Dana Michelle Dabbs, 33, both of Redlands.
