Five plaques and one trophy were handed out Saturday during the Ocean City Factory Outlet’s annual charity car show. The annual event also garnered nearly $2,000 for the Maryland Lower Shore Special Olympics.

The first 85 vehicles registered for the daylong event, which featured music by DJ “Hey Mick” and a contest judged by Don Klein of Shoreline Auto, received an outlet shopping bag with a commemorative dash plaque, an outlet discount shopping card, outlet discount coupons and a free raffle ticket.

“Best of Show” went to Carmen Sottile for his 1947 black Cadillac Sedanette. Tom Stranix received the “People’s Choice” award with his 1969 black Dodge Charger. “Best Use of Paint” went to Joseph Reising for his red 1932 Ford Coupe with flames, and Eugene and Vicki Bowles shared the “Best Street Rod” award for their respective 1923 and 1925 Ford TBuckets.

“Best Muscle Car” award went to Perry Umphries for his 1964 black Chevy Nova. And “Most Original” was awarded to Lee and Dot Wehr for their 1969 red and black Z-28 Chevrolet Camaro.

The show raised $1,890 for Maryland Lower Shore Special Olympics. Over the past few years, with the support of patrons and car show attendees, the Ocean City Factory Outlets has raised more than $21,000 for this charity.
