Hundreds of people lined up outside the Nike store in Camarillo Premium Outlets early Wednesday morning for the Air Jordan 1 Banned shoes.

Fans of the shoe only had one day to get them before they sold out.

The shoe got its name from Chicago Bulls basketball star Michael Jordan, who was fined for wearing them in 1985 because they violated uniform policy.

Images of the shoe had been leaking online recently, but it was uncertain when they would be available.

Wednesday was the day, but the shoes were only available in limited quantities. They were only sold in certain Nike outlet stores, with about 100 shoes available in each store.

Mark Yabut, of Panorama City, with the Air Jordan shoes he purchased at the Nike Factory Store. He and a friend waited in line for two hours before the store opened at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Jenese Lindsey, 32, drove from Los Angeles to Camarillo and got in line at 6 a.m. to buy a pair of shoes that she called exclusive and retro. She found out through Facebook that the shoes were going to be on sale.

"These shoes are from my childhood and they are redoing them," said Lindsey.

She started out earlier Wednesday morning at the Citadel Outlets in Los Angeles, and then to Ontario Mills Outlet, where she found more than 200 people waiting in line. She was successful in Camarillo.

Daniel Ghattas, 21, of Woodland Hills, had been in line since 4 p.m. Tuesday to make sure he would be able to get a pair. "I've been collecting Nike shoes since I was 4-years-old," said Ghattas.

The shoes were sold for $110 nationwide and are said to be on sale for this one time only. Customers were limited to one pair of shoes each, and received bracelets to be able to go inside the store.

The Nike store in Camarillo let customers inside in groups of about five to buy the shoes. The shoes were sold out in less than an hour and many people were left without a pair.

A new version of the shoe is expected to come out in October, this time with the jump-man logo in the tongue of the shoe.
