Tanger Outlet Police Pursuit Turns Deadly
MYFOX NEW YORK STAFF REPORT
MYFOXNY.COM - One person has died after a car fleeing law enforcement struck another vehicle on Long Island on Monday afternoon, authorities said.
Riverhead Police put out a call about a car wanted in connection with the theft of thousands of dollars' worth of jeans at a store in the Tanger Outlets in Deer Park.
A cruiser from the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office spotted the car, a Lincoln Town car, on the Long Island Expressway and pulled it over at Exit 64. When the deputies exited their car, the vehicle sped off and headed south on Route 112, according to the sheriff's office.
The vehicle turned west on Sunrise Highway and collided with a Subaru in Sayville, authorities said.
Emergency responders took everyone to the hospital, but one of the occupants inside the Subaru died, an official said.
Police arrested three suspects, two men and a woman, who were inside the fleeing Town Hall.
