Gilroy Premium Outlet robbers run over Good Samaritan.

By Eric Gneckow - Gilroy Patch

Two people who stopped a robbery at the Gilroy Premium Outlets Monday received minor injuries when a pair of suspects reportedly drove into them with their getaway car, according to Gilroy police.

Police received a report of the attempted robbery at the 8300 block of Arroyo Circle at 9:35 a.m., police said.

The first suspect had reportedly attempted to rob an outlet employee of money belonging to an outlet store. A passerby ran to the victim’s aid, and the suspect was unable to take the money, police said.

The suspect then ran to a nearby getaway vehicle containing the second suspect, and the two “intentionally struck the victims with their vehicle as they (the suspects) fled the scene,” said police.

The vehicle, a red 1992 Chrysler Lebaron, was found unoccupied near the scene, police said.

The suspects are described as two Hispanic males in their 20s. One is five feet, five inches tall with a medium build and dark complexion. The other is five feet, ten inches tall, 200 pounds, with light complexion and wearing a black hoodie and black pants.

Those with information related to the incident are asked to contact the Gilroy Police Department at 408-846-0350, and those wishing to remain anonymous can call We-Tip at 1-800-782-7463 (1-800-78-Crime).
