Golf ball drop benefits flood victims

By Roslyn Anderson - WLBT

Skycopter 3 assisted with an annual fundraiser for the Vicksburg Kiwanis Club.

WLBT's chopper took to the air to drop 3,000 golf balls to raise funds for the United Way of Central Mississippi.
The golf ball drop was held Saturday at the Vicksburg Factory Outlet Mall.
This year's event will benefit local flood victims.
The person who purchased the ball that fell closest to the hole won $1,000.00, second closest $500.00 and third received $200.00.
"Vicksburg Kiwanis Club is very supportive of the community, and we focus on children but this year with the historic flood in Vicksburg we decided to help in any way that we can with these victims," said Katie Ferrell with the Vicksburg Kiwanis Club.
This year's first prize winner was Lorissa Tolliver of Vicksburg.
