Sewer work at Merrimack Premium Outlets causes lane closures

MERRIMACK – Sewer work, scheduled to start today, will close travel lanes along the Daniel Webster Highway over the coming weeks.

Road crews set to work this morning installing new off site sewer lines connected to the Merrimack Premium Outlets mall, under construction off Exit 10 of the F.E. Everett Turnpike.

The road work, to run from the entrance of Elbit Systems at 220 Daniel Webster Highway to the Residence Inn at 246 Daniel Webster Highway, could last up to six weeks, according to Public Works Director Rick Seymour.

“Hopefully it will get done a lot quicker,” Seymour said this morning. “We’ll keep at least one lane going most of the time, so it shouldn’t be a real traffic problem.”

The $100 million outlet mall, which broke ground last summer, is expected to be complete by next year. It will include more than 100 stores spread over 392,000 square feet, company officials have said.
