A new 360,000-square-foot outlet mall is taking another step forward in the East Valley.
Simon Property Group will ink a lease later this week with the Gila River Indian Community
to construct the Phoenix Premium Outlets.The outlets will be next to the Wild Horse Pass Hotel and Casino in Chandler.
Simon CEO David Simon will be in town Thursday to sign the ground lease. That will allow construction to start on the first 360,000-square-foot phase. That phase will include 90 stores.
Simon operates Premium Outlets centers across the country, including San Diego, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Dallas. Simon’s outlet malls include stores from Nike, Coach, Perry Ellis, Puma, Forever 21, Chico’s, PacSun, Ann Taylor and American Eagle, among others.
Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group (NYSE: SPG) is also the owner of Arizona Mills mall in Tempe, King of Prussia Mall outside Philadelphia and Sawgrass Mills near Miami.
