Serbia's first outlet center causes traffic problems

INĐIJA -- The first fashion outlet center in Serbia was launched today in the town of Inđija with 65 stores and 15,000 square meters of office space.

The investment is worth EUR 40 million, and a total of EUR 25 million went toward construction and equipping of stores, which has already resulted in 500 new jobs, it has been announced.

The opening of the center, which offers products of well-known fashion brands at discount prices, attracted a large number of shoppers, whose cars formed several-kilometer long lines on the highway toward this small town located north of Belgrade.

Earlier in the day, the official opening of the outlet center - which was "built by local companies", according to reports, was attended by Vojvodina provincial government head Bojan Pajtić, who pointed to "the huge significance of this successful investment for attracting new companies and buyers, taking into account that the center is located in the vicinity of the Corridor 10".

The Black Oak Development investment, operated by GVA Outlets, will in the next several years expand by another 15,000 square meters, and create 1,000 new jobs, it has been said.

Among the brands that can be found at the center are Fashion Company, Sportina, XYZ, Tommy Hilfiger, Adidas, Nike, Puma, Converse, Ecco, Office Shoes, Beosport, Midas, Time Out, Levi's, Burlington, Lisca, Retro, Nicola's, and others.
