QUEENSTOWN - A gunman robbed a jewelry store Sunday night at the Queenstown outlets, leading to a motorcycle chase and a search in the Nesbit Road area, according to police and scanner reports.
Maryland State Police said a man entered the Ultra Diamonds jewelry store at the Queenstown Premium Outlets at about 8 p.m. Sunday, displayed a handgun and demanded jewelry. Employees gave the man an undisclosed amount of jewelry and he left the store and fled on a motorcycle.
Officers chased the motorcycle to the Nesbit Road area, where a 2009 Yamaha sport bike, reported stolen from Washington, D.C., was later located.
Troopers from the Centreville MSP barracks, K-9 units, aviation and crime lab personnel, along with deputies from the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office searched the area and the scenes for the suspect and any evidence.
Police said they were unable to locate the suspect. Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact the Centreville Barracks at 410-758-1101.
