WEST OCEAN CITY, Md. — Eight more national retailers have opened their doors during the summer at the Tanger Outlets.
“We are delighted that these impressive names have joined our merchandise mix at Tanger Outlets in Ocean City, because we are committed to bringing our community the ultimate shopping experience,” said Amy Norgate, general manager of Tanger. “(The new stores) will appeal to both our year-round residents and the visitor population alike.”
Only one vacant storefront remains at the outlet center, and Norgate said they are close to signing a lease with a major retailer to occupy that space.
Cache opened its doors in mid-July, and is a specialty retailer of lifestyle sportswear and dresses for style-conscious women. The store said it offers an “enhanced boutique experience” as well as casual to sophisticated day and evening wear.
“The company is starting to venture out into outlets, because normally Cache is just mall-based stores. ... They thought Ocean City would be a great opportunity,” said Cache store manager Dionne Johnson.
“Since we’ve been here, we’ve gotten really great response ... We’re very well known in Annapolis and Towson and Columbia and Christiana and King Of Prussia, and a lot of vacationers are from those areas. ... They’re really excited because there are only four Cache outlet stores in the entire company,” she said.
Brooks Brothers Factory Store opened, offering men’s and women’s apparel and accessories. Brooks Brothers boasts about being the country’s oldest clothing retailer, and the company is known for its high-quality dress shirts and suits.
J. Crew opened at the end of July, and sells men’s and women’s clothing. The company pushes quality, service and innovation, and states that its factory store items feature exclusive designs. Its West Ocean City store also carries shoes and accessories.
Gymboree opened next door to J. Crew, and features unique clothing for children. Gymboree clothing is designed with quality fabrics and detailed touches, and the company operates more than 160 outlet stores across the country.
American Eagle Outfitters opened next to Gymboree, and brings customers trendy clothing, accessories and personal care products.
Reebok opened in mid-July and is a leading manufacturer of athletic shoes and apparel for men, women and children.
Perfumes and More is now open, and sells a wide selection of name-brand designer fragrances for men and women. They also stock candles and accessories.
Eddie Bauer offers clothing, accessories and gear for men and women who enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle. The company operates about 370 stores throughout the United States and Canada.
The Tanger Outlets is located on Route 50 in West Ocean City, one mile west of the beach.
