Economic woes will help McArthurGlen's first Greek outlet centre

Greece’s economic woes will not damage McArthurglen’s first outlet centre, opening in the country next year, European Development chief executive Gary Bond told Property Week at MAPIC.

The specialist outlet developer will open the 230,000 sq ft outlet centre in Athens in May, but the company is confident that the value message will be popular in the time of economic uncertainty.
Bond said it was fortunate the company had secured bank facilities prior to the economic crisis, but explained that he believes the demand is there for the scheme.
