Tax Free weekend at Tanger Outlets in Mebane

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C.  (WCIV) -- Shoppers flocked to the Tanger Outlets to get extra savings, during the tax -free holiday weekend.  For parents, it meant purchasing school clothes and shoes for their kids before they head back.

Parent Pam Alldar said even if the savings is a few dollars here and there, it all adds up --- every penny saved is worth the trip.

"When you have four kids and you're buying shoes and backpacks yes it is," she said.
Not having to pay sales tax was not the only deal this weekend. Outlet shoppers were pleased to find many other great promotions going on, from side walk sales to buy one get one half off, or even free deals.

Cerissa Henderson was loaded down with six large shopping bags. She said it was well worth  the trip to the outlets.

"My son got some school clothes and my daughter got some school clothes and some shoes. They got good deals at Nike outlet and Children's Place," she said.
