WRENTHAM - Three men, including twin brothers, have been charged in connection with the holdup and assault of a Wrentham Village Premium Outlets employee who was on the way to the bank to deposit store proceeds last week, police said Monday.

The victim fought with one of the suspects during the July 24 robbery, but released the deposit bags after being knocked to the ground and struck several times, police said. The assailant then fled with an accomplice to a getaway car driven by the third suspect, Detective Lt. William McGrath said.

Police, including Sgt. Richard Mayhew, officers Stephen Hearon and Jonathan Coliflores and McGrath, found empty deposit bags at the scene.

A subsequent investigation led to the seizure of a vehicle in Cumberland by Cumberland Officer Shanna Loveless, police said.

McGrath said police executed a search warrant of the car and obtained clothing related to the robbery. Hearon and McGrath developed information on possible suspects which led them to Providence where additional information was gathered. Arrested over the weekend were Matthew J. Brodeur, 24, of Milford and twin bothers Marcis Appiah, 24, and Michael Appiah, 24, both of Providence.

All are charged in Wrentham District Court with with conspiracy to commit unarmed robbery, unarmed robbery and larceny. Brodeur was additionally charged with assault and battery in connection with the alleged assault of the victim, police said.
