“We are excited about the additional new stores and believe that this group of retailers will help draw shoppers from a large area throughout Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas,” said Gary J. Skoien, chief executive officer of Horizon Group Properties.

Gina Slechta, vice president of marketing for Horizon Group Properties, said the mall’s Facebook account has seen postings from “fans” requesting some of the newly signed up tenants.

The mall is the only outlet center in the state and is being built at the intersection of Interstate 40 and Council Road. The location has more than 112,000 cars that pass by the site daily. The center is expected to draw more than six million visitors a year from a three-state area and travelers on the Interstates 35, 40 and 44.

Construction on the 348,000-square-foot outlet center began last June. Built in a shopper-friendly racetrack design, the center will have covered walkways to maximize comfort and convenience for patrons. Simultaneous Celebration in 22 States and at the New York Stock Exchange Took Place on May 12th

GREENSBORO, N.C., May 17, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, Inc.(NYSE:SKT)announced today that as part of the events launched to officially mark the company's 30th year of business, it set two Guinness Book of World Records on May 12, 2011.

The first record was achieved for the Guinness Book of World Records for the World's Largest Dessert Party. Auditors from Guinness and official witnesses counted and verified the number of the Tanger's party guests who simultaneously celebrated from 3:00-3:15 p.m. (Eastern) in multiple locations. Tanger personnel and guests gathered on the floor and Executive Boardroom of the New York Stock Exchange, at the company's headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina, and at each of Tanger Outlet Centers' 34 outlet shopping centers in 22 states (as adjusted, for a simultaneous celebration across various time zones).

This multiple venue, nationwide dessert party had close to 20,000 participants in 35 Tanger locations. Although many showed up at Tanger's centers to join the party, only a few became part of the segment that was recorded in the Guinness headcount due to space and other constraints. The Guinness Book of World Records for the World's Largest Dessert Party, which adhered to the highly managed and audited Guinness processes, was set by Tanger Outlet Centers at 6,997 participants.

Simultaneous with the above record, the Tanger Outlet Center in Foley, Alabama also set the Guinness Book of World Records for an Individual Dessert Party. Tanger's center in Foley managed to consolidate into a single space 553 celebrants who complied with Guinness' audit and witness process to achieve this notable record. The previous record was 250 individuals at a dessert party.

It should be noted that 97% of all Guinness Book of World Records attempted are not set. Tanger Outlet Centers is very proud to now display the Guinness Book of World Records seal on our documents having set two records in a single day as part of our 30th Anniversary month-long celebration.

Cordish selling two outlet centers to Tanger

Greensboro, NC-based Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, Inc. has entered into agreements to acquire two retail centers from affiliates of Baltimore-based Cordish. The projects, located in Atlantic City, NJ and Ocean City, MD, total 694,000 square feet.

On May 6, 2011, Tanger's Operating Partnership entered into agreements with OCF Holdings LLC, Cordish AC-1 Associates LLC, Cordish AC-2 Associates LLC and Atlantic City Associates Number Three Manager LLC to acquire "substantially all" of the economic interests in the two outlet centers for a combined purchase price of $125.0 million in cash and the assumption of $75 million in debt.

The debt being assumed consists of three mortgages with various lenders that bear interest at fixed rates ranging from 5.14% to 7.65% per annum and have maturity dates ranging from 2016 to 2026.

Tanger paid a cash deposit of approximately $11.8 million on May 9, 2011 to secure its obligations under the Agreements, which will be credited against the purchase price for these interests at closing. The closing for both properties, which is subject to approval by the current mortgage holders, is expected to take place during the third quarter of 2011.

In a statement released by Cordish Companies, Gary Block, Vice President at The Cordish Company and Project Director of The Walk in Atlantic City, said the asset sale is "a joint venture with Tanger Factory Outlets on the existing phases of The Walk in Atlantic City, as well as for Ocean City Factory Outlets in Ocean City, Maryland."

Block added that Tanger will acquire a controlling interest in the Cordish entity which owns phases of The Walk, but that "Cordish will retain 100 percent ownership of future development phases in Atlantic City, of which we expect there to be many."

According to The Press of Atlantic City, construction on a parking garage and 45,000-square-foot, dozen-store expansion of The Walk is underway, the third of four planned phases of that asset. The $45 million project was supposed to be finished this year, according to the publication, but officials with the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority, Cordish's local partner on the project, now anticipate an early 2012 opening.

The Walk opened in 2003. It grew from 18 stores when it opened to nearly 100 stores by 2006. Vendors have yet to be announced for the additional 12 stores that are part of the asset's expansion.

The Ocean City Factory Outlets in Ocean City, MD is a 203,000 square foot destination center along Route 50, one-half mile from the Boardwalk. More information on that asset is available as a SCRIBD document below.
